Eli Update

Here is an update for today.

Phoebe is doing great. She has been up and around. She is amazed how much easier this has been since going through labor and surgery with Anna.

They removed the oxygen and feeding tube from Eli. We are glad. He hated both of them. He is still on an IV for fluid and antibiotics.

He is now allowed to visit our room 2 hours a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. We all got to hold him this morning. Anna kissed and slapped his head.

His ultra sound was perfect. No problems with kidneys, heart, or bladder. His Xray showed that the air pockets are still around his lungs. They haven't decreased yet, but we're all glad that they haven't gotten larger either.

They will take another Xray tomorrow. The doctor has been working with Children's Hospital. They said it could take up to 3 weeks for the body to absorb all the air in the pockets.

Phoebe will be dismissed tomorrow, but they may keep Eli until Sunday. We are hoping to be able to keep a room to stay up there with them. There have been 12 -15 babies born in the past two days that rooms are hard to find. They moved us to a smaller room today.

We will keep everyone posted and will have more pictures later.

Congrats you guys! he is so cute. :) I'll be praying along with all the others that the air pockets go down and he gets to come home soon. :)
