Today, Anna had the opportunity to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt at our church. Before the hunt started all the children got visited by a bunch of silly clowns.
The clowns each had their own idea on what Easter was about. One thought Easter was all about getting new clothes. Patches thought Easter was all about candy. Another clown thought Easter was about the Easter bunny coming and laying eggs on the cross. The last clown thought it was about going to bed early, getting up, and going to church.
At the end of all the clown confusion, Mrs. Cathy explained the following on what Easter was all about:
First there was Adam and Eve in the garden. They were perfect and spent time with God. But Adam and Eve disobeyed God and introduced Sin into the World. Due to their Sin, God sent a Sacrifice to pay for their Sin. His name was Jesus. It's on Good Friday that we remember Jesus dying on the Cross to be our Sacrifice. It's on Easter Sunday that we celebrate that He is our Risen Lord.
She explained that was the true meaning of Easter. The bunny, the candy, and eggs are just fun things we can do.
After the skits and lesson, the hunt was under way. Anna was one of the youngest ones there. It was fun watching her. She really had no clue what she was doing. Once she picked up that first egg, she was done. I had take away the egg she had in order for her to go find another. She also walks a lot slower than everyone else. There were a couple times that we had to pick her up and take her to a good hunting spot.
In the end, she found a total of 8 eggs and one of those was a prize egg. She traded the prize egg in for her little duck that you will see below. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
